Professional Attributes
Describe an achievement that best demonstrates your resilience, initiative or leadership.

During my internship at Freshfields Law Consult, I led the initiative to interview a client, gather evidence, and draft a demand notice in an aviation liability claim. Our work secured compensation without litigation, demonstrating initiative, problem-solving, and resilience.

What do you believe distinguishes an exceptional lawyer from a competent lawyer?

An Exceptional Lawyer, in my opinion, is one who, apart from being competent, goes the extra mile to provide practical solutions, identify and communicate risks as well as opportunities promptly to his client by combining legal knowledge with judgment and commercial awareness.

Describe a time you received constructive criticism. How did you respond?

During my internship at S&S Legal, I was advised to be more concise with my citation of cases by providing page numbers. I responded by seeking guidance, refining my approach, and thanking my senior. The feedback improved my legal research skills.

Commercial AwarenessBusinesses increasingly expect lawyers to provide commercially practical solutions not merely legal opinions.
Tell us about a recent legal, business or economic development that you believe every corporate lawyer should understand.

During my internship at Societe Generale PLC, I gained insight into the importance of Know Your Customer (KYC) and compliance frameworks through exposure to cases involving inadequate customer due diligence. This experience highlighted how compliance failures can create significant legal, financial, and reputational risks for businesses. I believe corporate lawyers must understand that their role extends beyond transactions to helping clients identify risks and strengthen governance structures.

EthicsYou discover that a senior lawyer has mistakenly included confidential information belonging to another client in a document that is about to be sent.
What would you do?

I would immediately alert the senior lawyer to the error and communicate the potential confidentiality breach noticed. I would assist my senior in making sure the error is rectified before it is sent without involving third parties.
