| Why Fitch Attorneys? | |||||||||||||||||
| Why do you wish to undertake your pupillage with Fitch Attorneys? | I want to pursue my pupillage at Fitch Attorneys to broaden my legal knowledge and gain exposure to diverse areas of practice. Having worked with good firms, I believe Fitch will challenge me, develop my skills and prepare me to become a well-rounded lawyer. | ||||||||||||||||

| Commercial Awareness | Businesses increasingly expect lawyers to provide commercially practical solutions not merely legal opinions. | ||||||||||||||||
| Tell us about a recent legal, business or economic development that you believe every corporate lawyer should understand. | The amended GIPC law removes the minimum capital requirements previously imposed on most foreign investors, giving them greater flexibility in determining their investment in Ghana. However, the US$1 million minimum for foreign trading enterprises remains. Every corporate lawyer must understand this change because it directly affects how foreign clients structure investments and enter the Ghanaian market, enabling lawyers to provide accurate, commercially relevant advice. | ||||||||||||||||
| Ethics | You discover that a senior lawyer has mistakenly included confidential information belonging to another client in a document that is about to be sent. | ||||||||||||||||
| What would you do? | I would quietly inform the senior lawyer before the document is sent and make sure the confidential information is removed. I would handle it discreetly, keeping the affected client’s confidentiality. | ||||||||||||||||
