| Describe an achievement that best demonstrates your resilience, initiative or leadership. | Being elected a member of Congress (which is the legislative arm of the SRC) at the Ghana School of Law has taught me how to represent the interests and concerns of students and has helped me develop confidence in expressing my ideas and communicating with people from different backgrounds | ||||||||
| What do you believe distinguishes an exceptional lawyer from a competent lawyer? | I believe that a competent lawyer is one who understands the law and can represent a client while an exceptional lawyer is one who combines legal expertise with integrity, empathy and strong communication. They understand that law is not just about winning cases but its people and justice. | ||||||||
| Describe a time you received constructive criticism. How did you respond? | I was tasked with a research assignment by my supervisor at the Legal Aid Commission. He stated that my research showed a good understanding of the topic, however my arguments needed stronger sources. I reviewed my work with more credible materials. | ||||||||
| Commercial Awareness | Businesses increasingly expect lawyers to provide commercially practical solutions not merely legal opinions. | ||||||||
| Tell us about a recent legal, business or economic development that you believe every corporate lawyer should understand. | One recent development is Ghana's reform of its investment framework through the new Ghana Investment Promotion Authority Act. The reforms include changes relating to foreign investment requirements, investment incentives and investor protection. I find this development particularly important because changes to investment legislation can affect how companies structure transactions and manage regulatory risk. A corporate lawyer will understand how these changes creates opportunities for business. | ||||||||
| Ethics | You discover that a senior lawyer has mistakenly included confidential information belonging to another client in a document that is about to be sent. | ||||||||
| What would you do? | I will first notify the senior lawyer of the mistake in including confidential information belonging to another client in a document and then assist the senior lawyer in making the necessary changes needed in the document and reviewing it to make sure that everything is in order before it is sent. | ||||||||
