| Why Fitch Attorneys? | |||||||||||||
| Why do you wish to undertake your pupillage with Fitch Attorneys? | I am drawn to Fitch Attorneys for your blend of strong advisory and dispute resolution practice. I wish to undertake pupillage with you to develop advocacy skills while learning how to deliver practical commercial solutions. | ||||||||||||
| What attracts you to corporate and commercial legal practice? | I am attracted to corporate and commercial practice because every transaction is different. I enjoy drafting, negotiating, and working in teams to structure deals that create value while managing legal risk. | ||||||||||||

| Professional Attributes | |||||||||||||
| Describe an achievement that best demonstrates your resilience, initiative or leadership. | Serving as General Secretary of Calvary Charismatic Centre while in law school taught me to handle pressure and solve problems. I coordinated teams, resolved conflicts, and ensured smooth church operations. It built my leadership and people management skills. | ||||||||||||
| What do you believe distinguishes an exceptional lawyer from a competent lawyer? | A competent lawyer gives correct legal advice. An exceptional lawyer understands the client’s business goals, anticipates issues, and gives practical solutions. They combine legal knowledge with judgment, initiative and strong communication to build trust. | ||||||||||||
| Describe a time you received constructive criticism. How did you respond? | During my internship, I received feedback to proofread more carefully. I built in a final review step. After that I caught errors early and was given more drafting responsibility. | ||||||||||||
| Commercial Awareness | Businesses increasingly expect lawyers to provide commercially practical solutions not merely legal opinions. | ||||||||||||
| Tell us about a recent legal, business or economic development that you believe every corporate lawyer should understand. | In April 2026 Parliament passed the GIPA Bill to replace Act 865. It removes minimum capital requirements for foreign investors, mandates annual renewals, and makes GIPA the one-stop shop and AfCFTA focal point. It also explicitly promotes outward investment by Ghanaian businesses. | ||||||||||||
| Ethics | You discover that a senior lawyer has mistakenly included confidential information belonging to another client in a document that is about to be sent. | ||||||||||||
| What would you do? | I would immediately and respectfully alert the senior lawyer before the document is sent, point out the confidential information, and help remove it. If already sent, I’d notify them and a partner so we can recall, redact, and inform the affected client. | ||||||||||||
